TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Now-former Florida GOP Chair Christian Ziegler would take pictures of women in bars and send them to his wife to gauge her interest in sexual encounters, according to new Sarasota police investigative documents obtained by News Channel 8.

Documents released on Thursday reveal that there were text messages between Bridget Ziegler — a Sarasota County School Board member — and Christian Ziegler where, according to a summary by the police investigator, “[The Zieglers] are on the prowl for a female and Bridget is directing him to numerous different bars in search of a female that they are both interested in.”

The police investigative summary further stated that Christian Ziegler would “secretly” take pictures of women in bars. According to the report, Bridget Ziegler allegedly told him to “pretend to take pictures of his beer, so [the women] don’t see him taking pictures of them.” Christian Ziegler would then reportedly ask her via message “if she wants this one or that one.”

The documents were released as part of an ongoing battle from Tampa Bay-area media outlets for records to be released surrounding the investigation because the public had a right to know if their communications with one another, or others, raised questions about their roles as appointed or elected public officials.

Christian Ziegler was accused of raping a woman after a sexual encounter in October. However, the investigation was closed without any charges because they believed the encounter was consensual and there was no probable cause.

The investigation was also forwarded to the State Attorney’s Office for review for possible video voyeurism charges after Christian Ziegler showed a video of the encounter to prove it was consensual, but that was also closed without charges due to a lack of evidence.

Bridget Ziegler said she had not agreed to a threesome for that particular encounter and had not seen the 2.5 minute video, documents show.

Bridget Ziegler, also a co-founder of “Moms for Liberty,” became tied up in the allegations after admitting that she and her husband previously had a consensual threesome with the woman who made the accusations. Bridget Ziegler was never accused of a crime.

Bridget Ziegler has repeatedly faced calls to resign from the Sarasota County School Board since the allegations were made public, but she has said she’ll remain on the board.
